Quick summary of this post if you're not going to read it all:
1. Subscription Renewal
2. What I've Been Up To (health, work)
3. Mini-Pets!

4. Lordi. X3
5. E-Fame (I'm on Encyclopedia Dramatica again, dudes!)
----------------------------------------------
Yeah, I caved and finally got a subscription again. Just a three-month, but I was sadly neglecting the site thanks to the hassle of not having a subscription. ._.;
AAAANYWAY, for those who don't follow me on one of the blog sites I'm on, this is a notice that I am indeed Alive. Working to kick an
addiction to a prescription sedative (always,
alwaysresearch your meds before taking them, even if the emergency room doctor prescribes it for you; they have a funny habit of leaving out important details, like how certain ones are highly addictive...

), recovering from the chaos of the holiday retail season (I work for aworldwide fashion accessories retail corporation), nursing an addiction to Wikipedia (really, there's no other word but addiction, but at least it's constructive).
And then there's my new love and fascination with
Sea Monkeys and
Triops, the brine shrimp's bigger cousin. I've also discovered "
Micro-Lobsters,"a Hawaiian breed of tiny red shrimp, and I'm hoping to add them to my critter array. :3 In fact, if you know of any other interesting mini-pets out there (aside from like, an ant farm; I'm planning to get one of those new-fangled gel ones eventually), let me know. I'm totally hooked.
Oh, by the way, if you missed the memo, I'm also completely and utterly obsessed with the Finnish hard rock group
Lordi. So if you take a gander at my favorites gallery, you'll see a ridiculous amount of Lordi fanart. X3
And now on to the more interesting part of this post.
It seems I've made Encyclopedia Dramatica again! I sure am getting popular on these here interwebs. Evidently ED has been sending some webtraffic this way, too, and about a month ago, I got this comment on my main page:

If-I-Were-A-Bee,
Dec 1, 2007, 2:48:05 PMOh, you are so ridiculously fucked up.
First of all, we know your little amputee, defacating, dirty, fat Neopets are your sad, disgusting fetishes.
Secondly, stop uploading two versions of everything. I understand you just love your work that much, but really, it's just embarrassing. Do you see successful artists doing it? Don't do it.
And last of all, the only reason you have so many hits - Check the end of this article.
[link] Go ahead, look under external links.
Anyway.
I know you'll probably hide this comment, maybe in embarrassment or anger or whatever, I just want to tell you I'm not usually a terribly mean person. You're just that weird.

Isn't that sweet? My response:

Amputee fetish? Scat fetish? Nah. I just like torturing cute creatures. It's cathartic. Chao fit the bill perfectly.
Now, Sonic, they might have a point on. But I never claimed I wasn't a fangirl.
Incidentally, since you were gracious enough to link me to the article (thanks; it' salways interesting to see how well-known I'm becoming on the internet mostly by virtue of being a strange, Sick Motherfuckerâ„¢ ),I'll point out that although I had a Neopets account years ago, when the site started and I'd barely hit puberty, I haven't so much as logged into it in years. I am, however, quite the Gaiafag, so you may wish to edit the article link or move the link to
ED's Gaia Online article.
I'm not sure what you refer to as uploading multiple versions of the same piece. I often upload a sketch and the finished product, though last I checked the unfinished piece goes into my scraps, not my main gallery. There is at least one image that I redraw from scratch from time to time, mostly to monitor my progress or lack thereof in skill improving. Or are you referring to the two photos where I couldn't decide whetherI preferred the color or black and white version?
And my goal in life has nothing to do with being a "successful artist,"so what do I care if I'm doing things the way they do? I've always done things my own way, and I'll upload what I please. It is, after all, my own art in my own gallery. No one else has ever complained or so much as commented; it's rather obvious that at this point you're just looking at things to criticize me over.
Eh, it's your time, waste it how you will.
As for the "only reason" I have so many hits? Since that link was added to the Neopets article, I've received many positive comments and faves on my sick little chao drawings, as well as several Deviant Watches. The people who have faved those images often look through the rest of my gallery, and comment or fave other pieces as well.
Why should I look a gift horse in the mouth?
Hide the comment? Now why would I do that? You've paid me a compliment! I'm strange enough that you actually took the time to click that link, look through my gallery, and even write up your little personal review of my gallery.
I happen to take great pride in being "weird," as any of my friends and likely most acquaintances can attest to. Weird enoughto elicit hatred simply by virtue of
being weird? That's awesome! That means I'm in the same category as some of my heroes (Lordi, Dee Snider, Gene Simmons, and plenty of others not necessarily in the music world)! Frankly, that's thrilling!
By-the-way, you have excellent taste in movies.
Army of Darkness is one of my favorite films.

I made you suffer and that doesn't feel right. I thought my knife would snuff you out like a light. How rude of me! A quick beheading will end your fright!----------------------------------------------
I do so love fanmail.
HK Out.
