The dream was primarily Mighty Ducks. At one point I was even my own (male) character. I like him, and I haven't thought of the Ducks much lately, so this was pretty awesome.
But then it got weird. Okay, my dreams are always weird. But this was weird.
The Mighty Ducks were fighting Dragaunus' robotic minions. Nothing strange there. Pretty much a day in the life, really. Much of the actual battle was in my own, real neighborhood, only with a lot of insanely tall trees. Okay, still not that unusual.
Except that one of the main robot types they were battling were Daleks. No sign of Doctor Who.
More of the robots were badniks from Sonic the Hedgehog.
There was a scene where I was frantically choosing from among an array of wooden sticks to try and figure out which one was my wand. The name "Harry Potter" was spoken distinctly at this time.
Was that Hulk Hogan shushing me as we snuck down a darkened hotel hallway?
A rather epic fight took place directly across the street from the little church of Scientology a couple blocks away.
At one point I (as my character) collapsed, exhausted, on... the sales counter from the job I quit a few weeks ago.
For some reason, the Ducks' headquarters floated overhead. Coming and going involved a rope ladder. Never saw Sportacus, though.
Still trying to figure out where the trolls I had to chase off came from.
I woke up with Alice Cooper's (We're All) Clones stuck in my head. |

| That'll Teach Her. |
[Feb. 9th, 2008|07:22 pm] |
Sometimes life is too perfect for words.
Take yesterday at Wal-Mart. I'm doing a quick round of grocery shopping, grabbing some basics before heading home for my day off today. Wearing black knee-high combat boots, black pants, Lordi "Hard Rock Hallelujah" t-shirt, black hat, studded black leather bracelet that's so wide it's almost a gauntlet (four rows of average-size studs), skull bead bracelets, fingerless studded pleather biker gloves. You know, the usual.
So I'm minding my own business, pushing my cart around a corner, when I pass this woman and her ultra-ultra-conservative young teenage daughter. We're talking zip-up knit sweater, pleated khaki skirt hanging just past her knees, plain canvas skids, hair down, looked like she was probably home-schooled or private-schooled.
She stared at me as we passed. So, being the friendly sort that I am, I smiled. She kept staring, like she was afraid to smile back...
And ran the cart right into her mother.
I barely made it around the corner before bursting into laughter. |

Oh that was fucking AWESOME.
I dreamt about Lordi last night this afternoon. Specifically Kita (if you don't know who he is by now, just have a gander at my icon. ;D ). It rocked. <3
I have the best dreams. |

| Royal de Luxe's "The Sultan's Elephant" |
[Jan. 9th, 2008|01:35 am] |
(Thanks to triggur for posting these incredible videos on his blog.)
Imagine an elephant the size of a three-story house. Benevolent and obediant, it can lift entire vehicles, spray crowds of people with water, and carry not one, but a half-dozen or more riders at once.
Now see one for yourself.

It's like the ultimate in animatronics. And it doesn't stop there.

It's eerie, but at the same time beautiful and truly awe-inspiring.
There's a few more videos on YouTube, including the conclusion to this giant-sized, 4-day-long fairy tale.
Personally, I hope I can see it in person some day. |
